Drug Uses
Effexor is a new type of antidepressant, related to the class of serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors. Effexor inhibits reuptake of serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine in a lesser extent, by increasing the concentration of neurotransmitters in the brain and in the body.

The therapeutic dose of Effexor is matched, depending on the patient's state and positive response to antidepressant treatment. The recommended initial dose of Effexor makes 75mg per day. Effexor initial daily dose is divided into 2-3 doses and must be taken during a meal.
If the antidepressant effect is poorly achieved, Effexor daily dose can be increased to 150 mg. For severe psychiatric disorders treatment, the maximum daily dose of 350 mg of Effexor can be administered.
Missed Dose
If you’ve accidentally missed a dose of Effexor, do not try to compensate the effect by a double dose of the antidepressant. Wait for the time of the next dose of Effexor and skip the missed one.
